As we see harvest coming to a close we gear up to be more ambitious. Please join us on Thursdays afterschool starting October 13th 3:45-5:00pm for Bible Busters! As well we welcome everyone to come to Cornerstone afterschool on Fridays before Youth to check out our New Purpose Groups.

What we are up to now!

A message from Benjamin and Genevieve

Hello,

We are excited to introduce a new Discipleship Program called Purpose Groups. These are adult lead Groups that engage the Youth in learning about a large range of hobbies and life skills but through a Godly perspective.

We all know that as we grow up we have more and more things that take up our time. Most people are always Busy in some way or another. Let us equip our Youth with the skills to handle life but Remember to give glory to God every step of the way.

If you are interested in serving our Youth with a skill or hobby you have then please contact us. Our Youth thank you for all you do for them!

Announcements for the Month

October 21st – Facebook Vote Night: Post your ideas on Facebook (Cornerstone Youth Group), after Oct. 7th, for an event to do this night and everyone can vote for their favourite. Most votes wins and that’s what we will be doing!

October 28th – Halloween Party/Smorg: Smorg is held annually at the Covenant Church and the Youth do their part to help. If you are helping with Smorg please dress appropriately and bring a costume for the party after. Everyone welcome!

Please keep the Youth and the School in your prayers. This month we are focusing on Suicide Prevention.

The youth in our church serve in many different ways with much energy and excitement, helping with the Covenant Heights Bible Camp ministry, playing instruments for Sunday Worship, participating in the weekly Bible study classes, and providing their support for special projects and fundraisers.

Theme for this year: WORDS HAVE POWER

Cornerstone Youth Event: Every Friday evening 7:00-10:00pm at the church. Hangout continues til 12AM.

Bible Busters: Every Thursday 3:45 – 5:00pm.

CHIC: The department of Christian Formation of the Evangelical Covenant Church walks alongside the churches and conferences to host a triennial event for youth called CHIC (Covenant High In Christ).

The next CHIC conference will be in 2012!

And now as we go on our way
may Jesus undo our watered-down,
sanitized and sugar-coated faith,
so that we may follow Him into a heroic life
where our comfort zones are undone
so that we are not afraid to become
countercultural and counter comfortable.

Holy Spirit, reveal a God who is bigger
than all we can figure out
and who loves us beyond what we can imagine.

Give us the courage and the commitment
to work together so that none
of God’s work remains undone.
